Verona, they violated the curfew by traveling in a rented car in which they had hidden cocaine, precision scales and drug packaging material, but were caught by the police officers of the Verona Police Headquarters.
It happened this night, around 1.30 am, when during an ordinary prevention and control service in the area, the operators noticed a Ford Focus with two men on board passing through Via Legnago.
Suspicious of the presence of that car in motion after 22pm, the operators decided to stop the vehicle and proceed to check the occupants: he was a 00-year-old Kosovar man, already known to the police for crimes relating to narcotics, and a 35-year-old Sicilian, with a history of crimes against people and drugs, who immediately appeared nervous and reluctant to be checked by the police.
In light of the specific precedents of the two young people and the presence of a precision electronic scale clearly visible inside the car, the operators decided to carry out further checks, subjecting the car to a search.
The careful checks carried out by the operators made it possible to find and seize another precision electronic scale and material for drug packaging. Furthermore, more than 15 grams of cocaine were found and seized inside a cavity under the dashboard, already divided into three doses ready to be sold.
In light of the investigative emergencies, the checks were also extended to the home of the two young people: inside the hotel room where the Kosovar citizen was temporarily staying, the operators found and seized another precision electronic scale, a dog-repellent gun without red cap and 16 non-blank ammunition.
At the end of the investigations, the two young people were placed in handcuffs for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs in competition, in addition to the sanctions provided for the violation of the measures to contain epidemiological contagion. The 35-year-old will also have to answer for illegal possession of weapons, pursuant to art. 697 cp
In the morning, after the validation of the arrests, the judge ordered, in a very direct procedure, the precautionary measure of house arrest against the foreign citizen and the measure of the obligation to report to the Judicial Police 3 times a week for the 32-year-old Italian. With regard to the latter, the Police Commissioner of Verona, Dr. Ivana Petricca, also adopted, through the local Anti-Crime Police Division, the mandatory expulsion order. The Kosovar citizen was, however, made available to the Immigration Office for documents of specific competence.
