On 8 May 2023, the soldiers of the NOR of the CC Company of Verolanuova executed, at the Brescia prison, a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the GIP of Brescia at the request of the local Prosecutor's Office, against CG, 45-year-old convicted felon originally from Manerbio, allegedly responsible for six armed robberies against supermarkets under various brands, located in the municipalities of Bassano Bresciano, Offlaga, Manerbio, Travagliato, Rovato and Bagnolo Mella as well as a seventh episode, dating back to the month of January, during which a citizen was robbed near an outlet in Franciacorta. The subject, burdened by specific precedents and violations relating to drugs, had been homeless for some time and had found hospitality with friends and acquaintances but in particular with a woman, subjected to house arrest for violation of the legislation on drugs, in the municipality of Manerbio.
The episodes were united by the same modus operandi and in particular by the use of a scooter without an identification plate, and a protective helmet to misrepresent the face and clothing recurring in all episodes. During the investigation, the military managed to locate his last place of residence and, following yet another episode of robbery committed against a supermarket in Coccaglio, arrested him in flagrante delicto on 27 April last. Following the flagrant arrest, the Brescia investigating judge ordered his precautionary custody in prison. Subsequently, being able to demonstrate the support in favor of CG ensured by the aforementioned woman, subjected as mentioned to house detention, the staff of the Verolanuova NOR had subsequently associated her with the Verziano prison pursuant to the provision of the Surveillance Office which had ordered the suspension of the alternative measure.
