Verano Brianza: Carabinieri arrest 28-year-old Egyptian for robbery and personal injury

On the morning of Thursday 7 November, the Carabinieri of the Verano Brianza Station 28 year old Egyptian arrested, resident in that municipality, in execution of an order implementing the personal precautionary measure of custody in jail, as he is seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated robbery and personal injury in competition with an 38 year old Tunisian, currently homeless in Italy untraceable.

The order was issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Monza at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the capital city of Brianza, who directed and coordinated the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri, which allowed them to gather irrefutable elements of guilt against the arrested man and his accomplice.

The investigative activity was triggered by the events that occurred on August 23, 2024 in Verano Brianza, at the public gardens called “Peace Park”, where the two subjects, after approaching a 31 year old Filipino national, sitting on a bench, they have it brutally beaten with kicks and punches, even using a stone as a blunt object to hit him on the head, causing him personal injuries with a 15 day prognosis. Then they a laptop computer, a watch and a fanny pack containing personal effects and cash were forcibly stolen.

The investigators identified the two individuals following an uninterrupted investigation, during which the descriptive elements provided by the injured party and the images captured by the closed circuit video surveillance system active at the scene of the crime were evaluated, which were acquired and analyzed.

The arrested person was taken to the Monza prison available to the Judicial Authority.
