The State Police of Imperia has tracked down and reported three people at large responsible for the attack that occurred yesterday afternoon in Ventimiglia against a non-EU citizen who was illegal on national territory.
The attack arose following an argument that took place, for reasons yet to be fully ascertained, between the young foreigner and one of the attackers near the Carrefour supermarket in the border town.
Following the reports received, the police intervened on the scene, identified the victim, rescued him and sent medical personnel to the scene.
The migrant was transported to the Bordighera hospital from which he was discharged with a 10-day prognosis for injuries and, subsequently, he was taken to the Ventimiglia police station to proceed with the administrative measures of the case.
The episode was filmed by a private individual, who posted the video of the brutal attack, carried out with tools found on site, on social media.
The immediate investigations carried out by the policemen of the Commissariat, through the viewing of the surveillance cameras and the examination of numerous witnesses, led to the tracing of the following people who will be reported at liberty for injuries aggravated by the use of blunt instruments, all residing in Ventimiglia and one of them with a police record.
The position of a fourth person who appears in the video at the end of the attack is being examined.
