Venice, “Train to be cool” project – The Police talks about safety to children

Venice, the “Train to be cool” project continues profitably, promoted by the Railway Police Service with the collaboration of the MIUR and with the scientific support of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of the La Sapienza University of Rome, aimed at raising young people's awareness of the issue to the correct and legally compliant behavior to be followed in the railway sector. The effective collaboration with the Trenitalia SpA company is fundamental, which has made its staff and a railway carriage available to make this particular educational experience even more interesting and engaging. Over the years, the Railway Police Department for the Veneto, which spreads the project in schools through specially trained operators, has organized numerous meetings in various schools in the Veneto provinces.

During the past week the “Casa Nazareth” Association of Chirignago (VE) joined the project with a large group of children of different age groups who, accompanied by some operators from the Railway Police Department, visited the Venice railway station St. Lucia. The importance of respecting the rules for safe travel, to protect their own safety and that of others, was illustrated to the very young people. During these training meetings, which always record a high level of approval, the Railway Police operators focused above all on the behaviors to avoid, because they are particularly risky for safety and personal safety.
