Udine, Carabinieri: information meeting on the topic of the “Red Code”
On the morning of November 14, an information meeting was held at the Provincial Carabinieri Command in Udine on the topic of protection of victims of domestic and gender-based violence, cd “Red Code“, which was attended by the Magistrates of the local Public Prosecutor's Office – the Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Claudia Danelon, the Deputy Prosecutors Andrea Gondolo ed Elisa Calligaris, the personnel of the Inter-Force Red Code Carabinieri Group and the State Police of the Judicial Police Section of the Udine Public Prosecutor's Office.
The conference, organised in agreement between the Udine Public Prosecutor's Office and the Provincial Carabinieri Command, was aimed at the personnel of the Carabinieri Stations located throughout the province as well as the personnel of the State Police, with a view to training, updating, comparison and fine-tuning of best practices in order to optimize joint efforts to combat crimes of violence against vulnerable individuals.
The Deputy Prosecutor, Dr. Danelon, chaired the meeting and, after briefly mentioning the evolution of the legislation on crimes relating to the sphere of domestic and gender violence, illustrated the various legal, precautionary, precautionary and preventive measures available to the Police Forces and the Judiciary to combat crimes such as mistreatment in the family, sexual violence, stalking, cyberbullying, as well as "indicator crimes" such as personal injury, violation of domicile and damage.
In the following, the Magistrates highlighted the critical points of the process of acquisition of evidence and protection of the injured party and also examined in depth some aspects relating to the victim listening techniques, including minors. The issue of "witnessed violence” which involves the minors witnessing acts of domestic violence and secondary victimization and the ways to minimize the psychological distress of the victims during the judicial and institutional management of critical situations from which they are helped to emerge.
The meeting ended with the hope from the Provincial Commander to be able to continue the training process inaugurated with this meeting, which will see further comparison sessions every six months between various legal practitioners involved in the Red Code matter belonging to the Police Forces and the Judicial Authority.
