Turin: police intervention to rescue a man who was about to throw himself from the Carlo Emanuele I bridge.

It happened to Along Dora Florence, after lunch; two patrols of the “Piedmont” Crime Prevention Department are engaged in a checkpoint during an activity available to the Turin Police Headquarters - UPGSP, when they are informed by a passing motorist of the presence of a man on the Carlo Emanuele I bridge, who has climbed over the parapet and appears to be about to throw himself down. The police officers immediately rush to the scene, taking care not to make the slightest noise so as not to frighten the person with suicidal intentions.

Indeed, a man, a Romanian citizen in his fifties, is on the outer edge of the bridge, unbalanced towards the void, holding on only to the railing with his hands. Two policemen, coordinating with each other, suddenly approach the subject from behind, who at that moment lets go, being providentially grabbed at the same time by the two agents, under the arms.

Despite letting himself go as a dead weight, the man was pulled up thanks to the intervention of the other police officers present on site, who managed to drag him to this side of the parapet and lay him on the ground, making him safe. While waiting for medical personnel to arrive on site, the police they offer the man a drink and support him morally, in consideration of the state of prostration that he manifests, according to him, due to some misunderstandings with his family, which would have led him to attempt suicide.
