During the course of yesterday, Wednesday 16 October, the personnel of the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza were engaged in an inter-force service aimed at combating irregular immigration and drug dealing, with particular reference to the areas of Parco delle Albere, Piazza Portella and Piazza Dante.

In following up on the discussions held with the Government Commissioner for the Province of Trento at the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security – also following some criminal episodes that occurred in recent months – The Trento Police Headquarters has set up a broad service in the areas of the city most affected by petty crime.

Over 30 men were deployed between the Trento Police Headquarters (which employed personnel from the UPGSP, Immigration Office, Anti-Crime Division, PAS Division and Flying Squad) the Provincial Command – Trento Carabinieri Company, Trento Financial Police – also with the help of the anti-drug canine unit – in addition to the contribution of crews from the Department Crime Prevention “Lombardy”.

The Police Chief of Trento has adopted an equal number of expulsion orders from the national territory against 5 individuals, all of whom are illegal residents on the national territory and burdened by multiple previous convictions against property and drug dealing. Among these, two young people – a 28-year-old Nigerian and an 18-year-old Tunisian – have already been conducted by personnel from the State Police and the Carabinieri at the CPR of Gradisca d'Isonzo.

In a few hours, they were almost 50 people identified, 3 public places checked, 8 grams of hashish seized, together with almost 6.000 euros in proceeds from drug dealing activities.

In addition, one person was reported for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing, while two others were administratively sanctioned for the possession of narcotics for personal use.
