Tree falls on a scout camp, a 16 year old dies instantly in Corteno Golgi

Albero falls in the night on a scout camp and overwhelms a 16-year-old who dies instantly. The tragedy in Palù, at 1400 meters above sea level.
Corteno Golgi, Brescia. The tragedy occurred at 4 o'clock this night, on Tuesday 25 July, the boys coming from Comasco had camped in the Palù area in Corteno Golgi, when the fort wind and intense rain overwhelmed them and caused the fall of a large tree which hit the stilt squarely on which the tent where the girl slept had been erected. The 16-year-old girl, Chiara Rossetti, hit by the tree, died instantly.
The boys had set up the tent camp in Palù, at an altitude of 1400 metres. The Edolo Fire Brigade, the Sagf of the Guardia di Finanza and the men of the Alpine Rescue intervened on site. The camp was evacuated and the boys taken to the town gym. The Brescia Prosecutor's Office, alerted by the Judicial Police, is waiting for the Alpine Rescue report to open an investigation into what happened.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni: “It was with great regret that I learned the tragic news of two accidents due to bad weather, in which a 16-year-old girl in a scout camp in the province of Brescia and a woman in Lissone lost their lives, both crushed by a tree. My most sincere embrace and total closeness from the Government to the families and their loved ones" we read on Twitter.
The president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, on behalf of the entire Council: “In learning with great sadness of the death of a girl aged just 16, struck by a tree in a scout camp in Valcamonica, I express the condolences and closeness of the Lombardy Region to her family and loved ones”.
