Genoa, they attack the manager of Carrefour Express who had just collected the week's takings: identified by the "RedBull" helmet.
The State Police of Genoa, in collaboration with the Operational Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Genoa Sampierdarena, has reported two men aged 33 and 23 for the crime of attempted attempted robbery.
Last morning, at around 8 am, a manager of the Carrefour Express supermarket in Via Galliano, while leaving the shop after having collected the proceeds of the previous days (corresponding to 30 euros) was attacked and threatened with a gun a man. The victim, however, despite a strong blow to the head caused by a push, resisted the attack. Given the futility of the attacker's attempts to take possession of the money, his accomplice who was waiting for him on board a scooter in Via Michele Erede attempted to separate the two, falling to the ground. The two then fled, abandoning the robbery attempt. The shopkeeper immediately called the emergency number, thus triggering the searches carried out by the Operations Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Genoa Sampierdarena. Already in the morning the military found the weapon used during the robbery, which was lost during the escape and turned out to be a pellet gun without a red cap. Fundamental to the investigations was the distribution, to all the police forces, of a still image taken from the security cameras, located in the area of the robbery which perfectly represented the two men, wearing two protective helmets on board a moped with a sticker bearing the words "Redbull" and with the license plate partially hidden by black adhesive tape.
At 22pm a UPG and SP patrol noticed two young people riding a motorcycle, similar to the one shown in the aforementioned photo, along Via Cornigliano. Once stopped, the correspondence with the image released that same morning immediately became clear: on the scooter, of the same model, the signs of the recent removal of a sticker bearing the word "Redbull" were visible, plus the license plate numbers they corresponded to the part of the license plate that remained visible. Furthermore, the helmet and clothing worn by the driver, a 45-year-old man, were the same as those shown in the still image. The passenger, however, did not correspond at all to the features of the other boy filmed.
The UPGSP policemen, after accompanying the 33-year-old driving the motorcycle to the police headquarters, informed the Carabinieri operations unit to continue the investigations together; having also traced the details of the other alleged perpetrator, the police operators, together with the soldiers, headed to his home, only to then learn from his relatives that the young man was at his girlfriend's house in Savona from where he was picked up and accompanied in Varazze by a patrol from the Provincial Command of Savona. In Varazze he was then taken over by the Carabinieri and the Genoa police who took him to the police station. The two suspects were referred for attempted robbery in competition with each other. The presumption of innocence remains intact for both.
