The Marche Region, together with SVEM, have launched the call for tenders for the digital and green transition of small and medium-sized tourism businesses
The Marche Region presented it in preview, with the technical and operational support of SVEM – Sviluppo Europa Marche, during the third meeting of the European project TOURBO "Boosting the transition pathway of MSMEs in tourism with green and digital transformation", which was held on 24 and 25 September in various locations between Ancona and the province.

The works opened at the Seeport Hotel in Ancona, with a technical meeting between the partners. Present the regional councillor for Budget and Community Policies, Goffredo Brandoni, the vice president of SVEM, Monica Mancini Cilla, the councilor for Tourism of the Municipality of Ancona, Daniele Berardinelli and Massimiliano Polacco, member of the Board and Council of the Single Chamber of Commerce of the Marche with responsibility for Tourism.
“I thank SVEM – Councillor Brandoni stated – which is working to find significant resources in the tourism sector. A sector that we aim to support also through funding from the European Programming 2021 – 2027. Collaboration and synergy are the key words of this initiative that fits perfectly into the strategy adopted by the Marche Region to enhance and strengthen its tourism system”. The meeting was attended by the international delegation, composed of around forty institutional representatives, entrepreneurs, university researchers and professionals specialized in environmental sustainability and digital technologies Partner countries.
The announcement was previewed during the two-day event, provides for the provision of vouchers of up to 8 thousand euros for projects that promote the twin transition, or the development of solutions focused on the dual track ofdigital and sustainable innovation, in favor of the Marche tourism operators. Great satisfaction was expressed by Monica Mancini Cilla, vice president of SVEM, the operational arm of the Region and promoter of the Call for Innovation Projects.
“The call – he added – offers the Marche tourist operators the opportunity to inaugurate new collaborations with an international range of consultants, to promote the technological development and environmental sustainability of our companies". During the meeting, dedicated to Sharing best practices for the transition of tourism offerings towards Industry 4.0, entrepreneurs from the Marche region had the opportunity to talk with European experts in innovation and sustainability in three different moments, at the Conero Park, at the Museum of Art History and Territory in Genga and at the Casal Farneto Winery in Serra de' Conti.
Il TOURBO project, funded under the Interreg Europe programme, was launched in March 2023 and will end in February 2027. The partnership includes organizations from eight different European countries, including the Seville Chamber of Commerce (Spain) – Coordinating Body, the Marche Region (Italy), the North Aegean Region (Greece), the Bremen Tourist Board (Germany), the Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Finland), the Vraca Chamber of Commerce (Bulgaria), the Koprivnica and Križevci Region (Croatia) and the Province of Donegal (Ireland).
