The great African heat eases: storms with hail arrive.

The African anticyclone is on its last legs: a nucleus of cooler and unstable air which will give the final blow to subtropical high pressure.

Antonio Sanò, founder of the site www.iLMeteo.it, has no doubts about the weather forecast for the weekend and next week.

After the passage of a disturbance on Friday evening and night in the Northeast, Saturday morning will still see residual instability in the Triveneto and Ferrara areas with the last showers, subsequently large clearings will advance in these areas.

Some thunderstorms instead it could affect, in the afternoon, the areas between southern Marche and Abruzzo (to be clear, the Ascoli and Teramo areas). It will be sunny elsewhere and still very hot in the South with peaks of 39°C.

On Sunday, however, there will be a radical change. A cyclone located over the British Isles will drive a thunderstorm disturbance that will affect the Northwest starting in the morning and then moving towards the north-eastern regions during the afternoon.

The disturbance, driven by southern winds and fed by fresh air at high altitude, will cause important phenomena such as large hail and sudden strong gusts of wind and more rarely tornadoes.

This sudden drop in pressure will also be felt in the Center where precipitation will reach Tuscany and then the rest of the regions during the evening and then night. Temperatures will undergo a significant decrease, even 10-12 ° C in the Northwest and more contained in the rest of Italy.
