The collaboration agreement has been signed between the State Police, the National Cybersecurity Agency and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate

The agreement defines, on the basis of the regulatory framework introduced by the legislator, the methods of mutual information exchange, with the aim also of reconciling the needs of judicial assessment with those, equally important, of operational resilience of the systems and services affected, to their more immediate functional recovery.

The collaboration agreement has been signed between the State Police, the National Cybersecurity Agency and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate.

The State Police, the National Cybersecurity Agency and the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate have signed a protocol for the exchange of information and good practices.

The agreement will serve to structure the flow of information between the ACN, the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate and the Postal Police and Cyber ​​Security Service of the Department of Public Security, a following recent legislative changes who have dictated a new regulation on the necessary connection between the national cyber resilience body, the office of national investigative and anti-terrorism coordination and the investigative body that deals with the most serious cyber crimes.

These are hostile activities, often linked to the action of international criminal organizations and actors who can also operate in the service of state-type entities, aimed at attacking the digital surface of the country with attacks with increasingly pervasive and dangerous effects.

The agreement defines, on the basis of the regulatory framework introduced by the legislator, the methods of mutual information exchange, with the aim also of reconciling the needs of judicial assessment with those, equally important, of operational resilience of the impacted systems and services, for their more immediate functional recovery.

The Chief of Police, Director General of Public Security, Vittorio Pisani, declared: “With the signing of today's Protocol, the State Police activates the resources and capabilities of the Postal Police which, through the network of Operational Centers present throughout the territory, is today called to offer your support to the district attorneys' offices in investigative activities, encouraging dialogue between the demands of resilience and those of combating cybercrime."

In this regard, the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor, Giovanni Melillo, added: “The protocol adopted today is an important one support tool of the action to combat criminal threats to national cyber security that the district attorneys are called upon to carry out in a regulatory framework that significantly strengthens their powers and related responsibilities."

As finally underlined by the Director General of the ACN, Bruno Frattasi, “It is a very important agreement for the agency, which seals and strengthens institutional cooperation, with the DNA and specialty of the State Police, for purposes that combine, in the balance desired by the legislator, the needs of justice with those of resilience cybernetics".
