Taranto, Lucanian special guard walking around the old city: 35-year-old arrested

Taranto, on Saturday afternoon around 16,00 pm, the Flying Squad personnel were busy, as usual, in controlling the surrounding areas and access to the "old city", which, especially at those hours of the day, is often a destination for drug addicts , coming mainly from the province, arrived in the capital to purchase the daily dose of the narcotic substance.
Passing through Piazza Fontana, the police noticed a man on foot who was preparing to enter via Cariati.
Upon seeing the police car, the latter increased his pace and changed direction, giving the clear sensation of wanting to evade a possible check by the officers.
Behavior which further aroused the suspicion of the police, who got out of the car and started chasing him, definitively blocking him in nearby Via Duomo.
The arrested person, who immediately showed himself to be uncooperative and restless with many difficulties, was made to board the service car and then accompanied to the Police Headquarters offices.
Although he lacked personal documents, the checks through the databases used by the Police Force made it possible to ascertain his identity, his numerous criminal records and the extent of the obligation to stay in the municipality of Policoro (MT), his habitual residence.
The subsequent personal search also allowed the recovery of three cellophane wrappers with approximately six grams of heroin and approximately half a gram of cocaine.
Having sent the documents to the Public Prosecutor for subsequent validation, the criminal, a 35-year-old of Lucanian origins, was arrested for resisting a Public Official, possession of narcotic substances and failure to comply with the special surveillance measure with the obligation to stay in the municipality of residence.
At the end of the formalities, the arrested person was accompanied to the Taranto prison.
