The Flying Squad police officers, during their usual territorial control service, received a radio note from the Police Headquarters Operations Room concerning a young woman who had called the emergency number, declaring that she wanted to commit suicide and abruptly hanging up the phone.

The State Police saved, yesterday evening, a 42 year old woman, catching her in flight as she tried to throw herself into the void from the railings of Lungomare Vittorio Emanuele III at the height of the Sailors' monument.

The police officers of the Flying Squad, during the usual territorial control service, received a radio note from the Operations Room of the Police Headquarters which it concerned a young woman who had called the emergency number, declaring that he wanted to commit suicide and abruptly ending the phone call.

Colleagues in the Operations Room called the woman several times, but in vain.

In order to locate the position of the phone as quickly as possible and with extreme accuracy, the radio operators worked, through 112 NUE, to geolocate the woman in order to communicate her to the patrol police, alerting healthcare personnel.

Just them they managed to get to the indicated location in the shortest possible time, despite the heavy traffic.

At that point one of the two policemen, with a lightning-fast move, lunged towards the woman encircling her waist with both arms, but since it had almost completely leaned out into the void, due to its weight, he lost his balance and also remained balanced on the railing and lost grip on the ground.

Only the timely intervention of the second agent prevented the worst from happening.

Once the 42-year-old was secured, The police officers continued to talk to her and reassure her.
The woman was transported by 118 personnel to the Emergency Room of the SS. Annunziata Hospital but, before getting into the ambulance, he hugged and thanked his angels.
