State Police and Anci sign the agreement on the prevention and fight against cybercrimes on the information systems of Italian municipalities

State Police and Anci sign the agreement on the prevention and combating of cybercrimes on the information systems of Italian municipalities.
It was signed on Thursday in Rome, during “Mission Italy 2023”, the national event organized byNational Association of Italian Municipalities and dedicated to PNRR of Municipalities and Cities, the agreement between the State Police it's the same ancient for the protection of the networks and information systems supporting the essential functions of the Association and the local public administrations represented.
Signed by the Chief of Police Victor Pisani and by the President of the Anci Antonio DeCaro, the Protocol provides that the activities connected to the protection of critical IT systems and services are ensured by the Postal and Communications Police, a specialized branch of the State Police with a high technological vocation, and in particular by the National Anti-Cyber Crime Center for the Protection of Infrastructures Critical – CNAIPIC which, with an operations room available 24 hours a day, represents the national contact point for the management of critical events affecting infrastructures of national importance, operating in sensitive sectors of strategic importance for the country.
The synergy established with this agreement, aimed at protecting the networks, IT systems and databases of Italian municipalities, is inspired by the principle of participatory security, with the aim of synergistically and efficiently ensuring the resources of the country system for the benefit of the entire community, contributing to the containment of operating costs resulting from interruptions of services provided through IT and telecommunications systems and the protection of citizens' privacy through raising the protection standards of sensitive databases accessed by municipal administrations.
