Half a meter of accumulation, more snowfalls expected
Snowstorm on the top of the Marmolada.
The disturbance crossing Italy has reported the snow on the Dolomite peaks of Veneto, which in the last few hours have turned white again.
A blizzard of snow and wind, with a temperature of -5 degrees, it hit the Marmolada yesterday. It is estimated that there was an accumulation of new snow of over half a meter in 24 hours.
The phenomenon was filmed by the fixed camera located at 3.343 meters above sea level in Punta Penia, managed by the marmoladameteo.it platform. In the webcam images you can see how the accumulation, caused by the wind, has now reached the roof of the Punta Penia hut.
Temperatures, according to forecasts, will remain low and the freezing point will not rise above 2400 metres. Furthermore, it is possible a new heavy snowfall towards Sunday evening, with a new temperature drop.
