Sirolo (Ancona), the Carabinieri arrest three people originally from Campania for fraud against an elderly person

The Carabinieri arrested, in flagrante delicto for the crime of aggravated fraud, three people, a man and two women, originally from Campania, already known to the police.
During a service aimed at contrasting and repressing the phenomenon of scams against elderly people, the military, in the early afternoon, in Sirolo, subjected a car with three people on board to a check.

The search resulted in the discovery of cash and jewelry in the car, the origin of which the three were unable to explain.
The investigations quickly clarified how the jewels had been stolen, just minutes earlier, from a ninety-one-year-old woman from Sirolo.

The elderly lady, in fact, had received a call on her landline, in which a man, pretending to be her nephew, had announced the imminent arrival of a package, with a request to pay the courier, who would shortly show up at her house, 4.000 euros.
To hurry up the victim, the man added that he had paid for the package with a check, which later turned out to be empty, and to avoid legal trouble, it was necessary to proceed with the urgent payment in cash.

After a few minutes, a girl who, identifying herself as a postal employee, used trickery and deception to show up at the lady's house, he had convinced her to give 1.190 euros in payment, gold jewellery with an approximate value of 3.000 euros, a mobile phone and the debit card with the relative code.

The timely intervention of the military from the Numana station prevented the three from making withdrawals with the ATM card stolen from the woman, who, that same evening, saw the Carabinieri return to her everything that had been stolen from her under false pretenses, including jewels of great sentimental value.
After being photographed, the man, a forty-six year old with a criminal record, was taken to the Ancona prison and the two women, aged 40 and 24, to the Pesaro prison.
