Seregno (Monza), spoiled meat and cockroaches in the fashion restaurant: sanctions and the restaurant closed.
It was considered one of the most fashionable venues in Brianza with always sold-out weekends due to the very high number of customers who also arrived from the nearby provinces of As an, Lecco e Milano. All this until yesterday evening, however, when the NAS carabinieri and the ATS Brianza staff showed up for an inspection.
Spoiled fish and meat and cockroaches
As part of the checks of the 2022 integrated regional plan. There, the inspection staff discovered the horror. 70 kg of spoiled meat and fish, in a clear state of alteration but, without any scruple, ready to be served on the table to customers. The violations detected were very serious and led to the immediate closure of the business - worth €100.000 - until all the non-compliances detected were resolved.
In fact, in addition to food violations, the Carabinieri-ATS inspection team found both deficiencies in the training of staff in food safety culture and various hygienic, health and structural deficiencies such as, for example, accumulations of previous dirt, food residues not removed from the kitchen as well as pests (cockroaches).
The complaint
At the end of the evening, the person in charge of the self-control plan as well as the legal representative of the local company was reported for food in a poor state of preservation and in a state of alteration pursuant to art. 5, letters “b” and “d” and art. 6, law 30.04.1962 n. 283.
