In Fondi, Via Flacca, at a beach resort in the area, a member of the Carabinieri, a Selected Corporal of the Carabinieri on duty at the Flight Department of the Carabinieri based in Pratica di Mare, off duty, while he was on the shoreline saw a woman who was drowning in the water, in obvious difficulty. The woman, promptly rescued by the soldier, was taken to shore by the soldier where some maneuvers were performed on her to release the water she had swallowed.

The 118 personnel who intervened subsequently took care of transporting the unfortunate woman to the Fiorini Hospital in Terracina, in yellow code, not in danger of life.
The general context of the incident suggests that if the military had not intervened, the lady would certainly have drowned.
