Rome, the State Police, following a complex investigation coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, arrested a 20-year-old man seriously suspected of the crime of attempted murder.
The facts date back to the evening of October 10th when, in one of the main streets of Tor Bella Monaca, some citizens rescued a boy injured by at least 4 serious stab wounds. The young man, as was later ascertained medically/legally, had been wounded by 5 stab wounds to the chest. These injuries did not prove fatal only due to the timely intervention of the doctors who, first on the street and then in the operating room, saved the victim's life.
The investigators of the Casilino District, activated immediately by the operations room of the Rome Police Headquarters, promptly began investigation activities to reconstruct what happened.
The Rome Prosecutor's Office thus authorized a series of technical investigations which made it possible to identify a 20-year-old Roman as the probable perpetrator of the wounding. In light of the circumstantial elements collected, the Prosecutor's Office itself requested and obtained from the Judge for Preliminary Investigations the issuing of precautionary custody in prison for the suspect.
The investigations, as later reported in the same GIP order, established that the injury occurred "due to a spirit of retaliation" caused by a previous dispute between the protagonists of the recipient of the precautionary measure and the victim.
The measure was carried out by the investigators of the VI District who, after stopping the man at the exit of the barracks where he was obliged to report daily by virtue of another provision, accompanied the 20-year-old to prison.
In any case, the suspect is to be considered presumed innocent, in consideration of the current phase of the proceeding or that of the preliminary investigations, up to a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence.
