Rome Termini: the State Police tracks down and arrests two subjects seriously suspected of the crime of escape.
Another arrest for evasion by the State Police, also achieved thanks to the strengthening of the daily territorial control services in the area of the Roma Termini railway station, as prepared by the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security at the Prefecture, in line with the directives issued by the Minister of the Interior. During the night, a 27-year-old Nigerian citizen, already a fugitive, was arrested near Termini station, seriously suspected of committing the crime of robbery. The man, evidently trapped after being identified in Piazza dei Cinquecento by two patrols from the Flying Department and the Viminale police station, engaged in extraordinary control of the area, hastily fled towards Via Manin.
The chase then began, ending only near Via Napoli where the officers managed to block the man who, in an extreme attempt at resistance, tried to free himself by throwing elbows at the officers. It is underlined that, again thanks to the increase in controls around the station, in recent days another citizen of Egyptian origins, who had previously escaped from the Latina penitentiary facility, had already been stopped and arrested by officers in Via Farini.
In any case, the suspect is to be considered presumed innocent, in consideration of the current phase of the proceedings, i.e. that of the preliminary investigations, until a definitive finding of guilt with an irrevocable sentence.
