It was just after 23pm yesterday when the Director of the service dedicated to controlling the nightlife of Campo de Fiori, noticing a large gathering of young people near the cinema, approached it with a contingent made up of State Police and Carabinieri . At that point, the same young people began throwing objects at the police who, with a quick and effective maneuver, managed to disperse the crowd.
During "the launch" the same director of the I District Trevi Campo Marzio, Fabio Abis and an agent of the XIII District Aurelio, managed to confidently identify GM as one of the authors of the bottle throws and, with the collaboration of two Carabinieri of the Command Macao station, they blocked him and took him to the police offices. At the same time, a 17-year-old who was taking part in the riots was also stopped, uttering insults towards the police, at whom he then threw a cigarette butt.
A member of the Carabinieri, hit by a glass bottle, was taken to hospital and will remain there for at least 7 days.
GM, already known to the police, was arrested for violence, resistance and injury to a public official. The minor, however, will be reported to the Judicial Authority for contempt of a Public Official.
The adoption of Dacur for both young people is being examined by the Police Commissioner.
The investigators of the Rome Police Headquarters are viewing a series of videos, made by the operators of the Scientific Police, to identify and possibly sanction the other participants in the riots.
