He had gained the trust of his victim by getting himself hired as cleaner but, while he kindly pretended to offer her a cranberry juice, in reality He drugged her with benzodiazepines to steal her wallet and make withdrawals with her credit card. The woman – a thirty-seven year old of Romanian origins – it's time in jail because she is seriously accused of the crimes of aggravated robbery in a home and improper use of payment instruments.
It was the State Police officers of the VII District San Giovanni who reconstructed his movements thanks to the combination of video surveillance images acquired from the condominium and the credit institutions where the withdrawals were made.
The police investigation started at October, when the elderly woman showed up at the offices of the VII San Giovanni District, telling the police what had happened to her the day before. It all started the previous morning, when the maid had offered her a cranberry juice. An act of kindness behind which was hidden a plan devised behind her back to strip her of her belongings. That same evening, the old woman was later found by some relatives in her home, lying on the floor near the bed and unconscious. Once transported to the emergency room in red code, the doctors had benzodiazesipine overdose found; only when she regained consciousness did the old woman realize the numerous withdrawals which, during the day, had been made with his credit cards without his knowledge.
Once she returned home, she then noticed that the bottle of a drug she had taken years before – and which she had not touched for three years – it was empty. From there she began to suspect that the woman had drugged her: together with her family, she ran to denounce what happened to the police.
The investigations conducted by the police officers of the VII San Giovanni District allowed them to reconstruct the movements of the maid in a short time: from the first investigations carried out on her, moreover, it emerged that she had already wanted for a similar episode committed in Naples in 2016.
The measure of the requested and obtained against him was pre-trial detention in prison – ordered by order of the Judge for preliminary investigations – the police managed to intercept her a few days ago at Termini Station, where he had returned from the Neapolitan city.
The thirty-seven-year-old is now in prison, seriously suspected of robbery crimes aggravated in the home and improper use of payment instruments.
