On the occasion of Road Victims Day, the State Police renews its commitment to draw attention to the issue it considers of fundamental importance: every life lost on the roads represents a tragedy that affects not only the families of the victims, but the entire community.
95% of accidents are caused by human behavior, among the main causes are distraction, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but we cannot ignore the NON-use of safety devices such as helmets.Road safety must be a commitment and a responsibility shared by all.
The State Police is constantly committed to promoting a culture of road safety and invites everyone to reflect on the importance of respecting the rules and responsible driving behavior.
In Italy, approximately 450 road accidents are recorded every day, with an average of 8 deaths and 65 injuries. The annual report of ACI-Istat reports a worrying increase in pedestrians involved and victims among scooter and bicycle drivers. These data should push us to seriously reflect on the urgency of changing our daily habits, in fact road safety education directly concerns the protection of the most precious asset we have: life.
To underline the commitment, the State Police has published on its social pages a video that illustrates the daily work of 10 thousand women and men of the traffic police, and on the words of the song "Volente o nolente" by Luciano Ligabue and Elisa, it recalls how daily the presence on the roads is precisely to guarantee that always being there that characterizes it.
