Rimini: Thirteen tons of illegal fireworks intended for sale, owner reported
The State Police of Rimini carries out the seizure of over thirteen tons of fireworks intended for sale on the market during the upcoming Halloween holiday.
Following the checks ordered by the Rimini Police Chief on the resale and storage activities of pyrotechnic articles and explosive material during the upcoming holidays, the personnel of the Administrative Police Division of the Rimini Police Headquarters he reported at liberty the legal representative of a company that wholesales such material.
In particular, the attention of the Administrative Police agents was concentrated on a depot located in the northern area of Rimini, where in the last few days there had been a significant movement of material.
Following the investigations, it was possible to ascertain that inside the aforementioned structure, a quantity of explosive material was stored that far exceeded the capacity limits established by the license issued for that site by the Prefect of Rimini in 2017.
In fact, a total of kg. 8.078 of explosive material (NEC – Net Explosive Content), packaged inside Category V pyrotechnic products, groups “D” and “E”, in excess of the maximum quantity permitted by the PS license, corresponding to a total of 5000 kg.
For these reasons, the excess quantity, corresponding to 3072.5 kg of NEC contained in Category V, group “D” devices and 4.5 kg of NEC contained in Category V, group “E” devices, for a gross total of 13.457 kg, was placed under criminal seizure and the owner of the company, as well as the holder of the storage license, he was reported for the crime provided for by Art. 2 of Law no. 895/1967.
