Two police cars immediately went to the residence, located in Viale Siracusa, which was the object of the intervention.
As soon as the police entered the apartment, the woman's husband, a 36-year-old Albanian, immediately showed a hostile and intimidating attitude towards his wife, a 30-year-old Albanian, trying to silence and overwhelm her, preventing her from having direct contact with the operators. .
The woman, visibly shaken and exhausted, on the other hand, always sought eye contact with the policemen, giving the impression that she wanted to have a confidential conversation, in order to be able to speak freely and report what had been happening for months, bringing the police to the attention of the his real life condition.
More in-depth investigations revealed that at the height of yet another argument the woman had been threatened with death, in the presence of her children aged 7 and 4, while she was forcefully held back by her husband who placed a large butcher's cleaver around her neck and threatened her. to be burned alive.
The 30-year-old, now feeling safe, represented how such episodes had been happening frequently for months, and on many occasions she was beaten up by her husband, who in an episode dating back to a few days earlier, had attempted to strangle her in front of her children. The woman reported that she had never reported these acts, fearing for her own safety and that of her children.
She also added that her husband used to spend the night away from home, in the company of other women, using narcotic substances. Furthermore, upon returning in the morning, the man did not hesitate to use violence against his children too, if the latter did not let him sleep.
The woman, exasperated by the situation she was living in, not knowing how to put an end to such episodes of extreme physical violence, which forced her into a condition of perpetual anguish and psychological subjection, saw no other solution than to contact the State Police.
The neighbors also corroborated what the woman reported, confirming the situation of extreme physical and psychological submission to which the woman had been subjected for months.
The young woman, convinced by the policemen and terrified by the fact that their intervention could trigger further violence in her husband towards her and the children, willingly accepted being able to spend the night, and possibly the following days, with a relative.
Inside the apartment, while the woman was preparing her personal effects, in the presence of the police, her husband uttered a sentence in Albanian towards the 30-year-old, who, when questioned about the meaning, translated it into: "I'll burn you alive!" . At the same time the police noticed that the cleaver, described shortly before by the victim as the tool with which she had previously been threatened, was still present on the kitchen floor.
While the woman was on the edge of the door, about to leave together with her children, the 36-year-old suddenly took out from a pocket, using his right hand, a snap-knife, with a total length of 15 centimeters and a blade of 6,5 centimetres, XNUMX, with which, with a lightning-fast shot, he attempted to grab the woman's stomach with the clear intent of materially revealing the death threats uttered against her up until then.
Only the sudden intervention of the policemen, who intervened between the parties, blocking the attacker's wrist, managed to avert the worst despite the man putting up strenuous resistance, trying to free himself by elbowing and kicking the policemen, attempting to use the knife in against them, without success.
The 36-year-old therefore, once disarmed and immobilized with considerable effort by the operators, was placed in safety.
5g of hashish and 1g of marijuana were found and seized from the man, and for this possession he was sanctioned as a drug user.
