Rimini, attempts to mug a woman who defends herself with stinging spray. Arrested by the police
Rimini, during the night, a young twenty-five year old who was returning home by bike after finishing her work shift as a waitress in a bar in Marina Centro, near the station was approached from behind by a criminal who, after grabbing her by the shirt and yanked, she grabbed the shoulder strap of the bag she was carrying with her and attempted to remove it.
The girl who lost control of her bicycle, in order to escape the attack and prevent the theft of her bag, took a freely available stinging spray from her bag and promptly sprayed it towards her attacker, at eye level.
The man, a twenty-five-year-old of Guinean origin, resident in Rimini, was thus forced to let go, giving up on his intent and, putting his hands to his face, he hastily walked away. In the commotion, he lost his wallet, containing his personal documents.
Alerted by the victim, the police who intervened on the spot immediately began searching for the criminal, searching the areas surrounding the attack until their attention was attracted by a man who, lying in the Fontana dei Quattro Cavalli, was washing himself several times the face certainly in an attempt to relieve the burning caused by the chilli pepper.
Given the correspondence to the description provided by the victim - in terms of clothing and physiognomy - the police decided to check the man who still had strong redness in his eyes, attributable to contamination from stinging spray. The doubt that he was the perpetrator of the attack was completely dispelled when the documents found at the scene corresponded to the person stopped, unaware of the loss until that moment, who claimed ownership of them.
The clumsy criminal was accompanied to the police station and arrested for attempted robbery, a crime for which he will have to answer to the judge during the immediate trial scheduled for today's morning as well as being administratively sanctioned because he did not comply with the time limitations established by the current anti-Covid legislation.
