Rieti, he was out and about despite being positive for covid: reported by the police
Rieti, As part of the territorial control services set up to contain the spread of coronavirus infection, in recent days, a DIGOS patrol of the Rieti Police Headquarters identified a criminal from Rieti in the Quattro Strade district who was leaving a local public establishment in the company of a woman.
The State Police Agents subjected him to checks, ascertaining that he tested positive for Covid-19 and was therefore the recipient of a health measure of isolation at his home.
Invited to return to his home, in his state of isolation, in order to prevent him from infecting other people, he justified himself by stating that he was going to the local Drive-in to be subjected to a control swab which, however, it had been booked for a few hours before.
The man was therefore reported in a state of freedom to the competent Judicial Authority, before which he will have to answer for non-compliance with the absolute ban on leaving his home for people who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, risking, in the event of conviction , the penalty of arrest from 3 to 18 months and a fine from 500 to 5000 Euros and, in the most serious case, if the crime of epidemic is defined by the Judicial Authority (art. 438 of the CP), as indicated in the 'art. 452 of the Penal Code, even a prison sentence of 1 to 10 years or, in the event of the death of the infected person, a prison sentence of 3 to 15 years.
A similar complaint in a state of freedom was made by the Officers of the Passo Corese Police Station against four non-EU citizens, a Nigerian, an Afghan, a Pakistani and a Moroccan, domiciled in an apartment in the city center of the hamlet of Fara in Sabina , currently considered a "red zone", all positive for Covid-19 and therefore in self-isolation.
The State Police patrol surprised them while, well aware of being positive, they hosted another non-EU citizen who tested negative for Covid-19 in their home, risking infecting him.
The State Police's territorial control services, set up for anti-COVID-19 purposes, will continue unabated, in order to guarantee public safety and health.
