Prarolo: fight against the phenomenon of the distribution and dealing of narcotic substances, one arrest

On the afternoon of November 21, 2024, at Prarolo (VC), soldiers from the Vercelli Carabinieri Company together with personnel from the Vercelli State Police have arrested for the crimes of resisting a public official, aggravated threat and possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing un subject of North African origins, with police record and irregular on the Italian territory.

The Police Forces intervened jointly in the countryside of the municipality of Prarolo (VC), following a call received at 112 NUE, by the well-known television reporter Vittorio Brumotti, intent on producing a report on the alleged drug dealing activity "in the woods" in that area, which he had shortly before reported being threatened with a revolver by an unknown subject.

The intervention of the police forces was almost immediate: in a few minutes, the State Police and the Carabinieri, once they had taken care of put Brumotti and the crew in safe conditions, have North African subject identified, presumed responsible for the threat, who, before being blocked, offered active resistance to the operating personnel, trying to hit him, to gain their escape.

On this occasion, the reporter handed over to the military and the agents hashish (50,06 g) and cocaine (1,12 g), abandoned by the arrested man during his escape.

Il film made by the crew – disclosed on the main social platforms and on television in the evening – was acquired as a further source of evidence.

To complete the activities carried out, the Carabinieri and the State Police operators, during the evening, with the help of the reporter, reconstructed the subject's escape route and then carried out a more extensive and detailed search activity in the large green area where the events had taken place and found, inside a backpack found in that area 564,4 grams of hashish, 57,05 grams of heroin, 21,43 grams of cocaine, a knife, an electronic scale and a revolver without a red cap, a perfect reproduction of the original, in addition to Euro 570,00 in banknotes of various denominations, seizing them.

The competent judicial authority has been informed by the police forces involved.
