Potenza: 15 DASpo issued against Crotone fans and 2 against Picerno fans
The Police Chief of the Province of Potenza, Joseph FERRARI, he issued 15 measures banning access to sporting events, with prescriptions, against some crotone fans, perpetrators of unsporting conduct, committed during the Playoff match of the last Serie C Championship - Group C, “PICERNO-CROTONE”, played at the “Donato Curcio” municipal stadium in Picerno (PZ), on 07 May 2024.
The recipients of the preventive measures are Calabrian supporters who, in the final moments of the match, climbed over the perimeter fence of the sports facility, going beyond the containment net, vehemently contesting and threatening the players of the visiting team, blaming them for the poor performance that, on that occasion, would have caused the defeat and the consequent failure to advance to the next round; an action then continued with the demand that the players abandon, as then actually happened, their shirts on the pitch, before returning to the changing rooms.
Of the fans, 4 were also reported at liberty to the Judicial Authority, pursuant to art. 5 of Law no. 152 of 1975 and art. 6-ter of Law no. 401 of 1989, since during the dispute in question they brandished objects capable of causing offence, disguising themselves so as not to be identified.
The administrative measures, which were reached following a procedural investigation by the Anti-Crime Division of the Potenza Police Headquarters, were issued following the investigative activities conducted by the DIGOS of the Potenza and Crotone Police Headquarters, through the viewing of numerous videos taken from the stadium's video surveillance system, consultation of databases and open sources.
Further investigations carried out by the Anti-Crime Division of the Potenza Police Headquarters have allowed us to verify that some of the participants in the above-mentioned episode, they had already been recipients of similar measures in the past.
The duration of the issued DASpo goes, from a minimum of one year to a maximum of 8 years, with the additional requirement of signing at the Crotone Police Headquarters, for each match of the football team “Football Club Crotone”. The additional requirement was validated by the competent Judicial Authority.
With reference to the same football match, Police Chief Ferrari then issued, 2 more bans on access to sporting events for two Picerno fans, who were responsible for Ignition of hazardous material during the match.
