Potenza: He insults and denigrates his wife in front of their children and then threatens to kill her.

Once again, the domestic walls, instead of representing a place of harmony and safety, hide sad stories of contrasts and disagreements that result in episodes of threats and violence. Stories in which, too often, not even the little ones are spared.
This week, a woman from the Lucanian capital asked for help from the Single Emergency Number 112 because she was tired of her husband's harassment.

The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Nucleus of the Potenza Company and those of the local Station immediately went to the victim's home, finding her in such a state of agitation that it was immediately clear what she was experiencing. Next to her were her small children and on the other side her 39-year-old husband, in an evident state of alcoholic intoxication. In this scenario, as told to the military by the woman, yet another episode of insults and denigrations culminating in death threats would have taken place.

An event which came to an end with the timely arrival of the Carabinieri who ensured the man was not harmed.
After first aid was given, the woman was accompanied to the Carabinieri offices in via Pretoria where, at the end of the victim's story, the Carabinieri were able to ascertain that the episode represented the latest in a series that had been going on for some time, even in the presence of minor children.

The 39-year-old was therefore arrested for the mistreatment committed against his wife and subjected to house arrest, as ordered by the Potenza Judicial Authority, at the home of a relative outside the city.
The arrest was subsequently validated by the GIP Office of the local Court which ordered the attachment of the electronic bracelet to the suspect for whom, it should be noted, the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction.

The recommendation of the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza is renewed to citizens to resort, from the first signs of danger or fear, to the Single Emergency Number 112 or to the Arma's offices in the territory and to do so with the conviction of always being listened to by qualified and adequately trained military personnel.
