Popoli Terme (Pescara), Carabinieri engaged in services to prevent and combat apartment burglaries. Numerous cars checked and two men reported

The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Popoli have increased checks aimed at preventing burglaries over the course of this weekend. Numerous vehicles and people were checked. It was during these prevention services that the Carabinieri reported two Italian citizens.

The first, a 31-year-old from Lazio, in the night between Saturday and Sunday attracted the attention of a patrol of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus who ordered him to stop, the young man did not stop, he ran away and was stopped after a short chase of a few kilometers, he tried to break free, but was blocked safely. On that occasion he appeared deeply agitated and refused to undergo the test required by the highway code for driving under the influence of psycho-physical alteration due to the use of narcotic or psychotropic substances.

Subsequently, following a vehicle search, he was found in possession of some objects such as screwdrivers and a hammer, the use of which he could not justify and which were seized. For these reasons he was reported to the competent Judicial Authority for resisting a Public Official, unjustified possession of objects capable of causing offence and refusal to submit to the test for the use of narcotic substances; his driving licence was withdrawn and forwarded to the Administrative Authority for subsequent suspension.

The second one, a 40 year old from Val Pescara, was stopped at the Bussi/Popoli motorway toll booth, and following a vehicle search, he was found with various objects capable of causing harm hidden in the luggage compartment. The man was unable to justify himself, as it was in fact a small arsenal: a machete, a knife, a cleaver, a truncheon, a switchblade, a screwdriver, a box cutter, scissors, a multi-bladed knife and iron knuckledusters.

All the material was seized by the Carabinieri of Popoli who then reported the man.
