Pickpocketing in Venice: the police stops 9 people. Three of them will not be able to return to the city.

The activity of the company continues incessantly State Police of Venice against the phenomenon of pickpockets in the historic center.

As already happened last week, in the last few hours, the agents of the Flying Squad, with the support of the policemen of the San Marco Police Station and the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters, have been engaged in another operation to deal with the recent episodes of pickpocketing that have aroused in recent days alarm and insecurity among citizens and tourists of the lagoon city.

Specifically, during a prevention and control activity in the area, after careful observation carried out by the policemen of the Venice Police Headquarters, 9 other people were intercepted and stopped, of which 7 women and 2 men.

The Police Commissioner of Venice Maurizio Masciopinto, thanks to the activity of the Anti-Crime Division, has provided others 3 compulsory leave papers, which are added to the 7 disbursed during the last operation, as well as a further worsening of the prevention and interdiction measures for another two inspected, which will prevent those arrested from continuing to transit in areas that in the past had been affected by pickpocketing phenomena.

Operation made possible also thanks to the contribution of new young agents recently assigned to Venice Police Headquarters.
