Pescara, 16-year-old found dead in a park: two minors arrested

Respecting the rights of the persons under investigation and the presumption of innocence, as far as is currently known, subject to further investigation and pending judgement, the following is communicated.

Last night, to 21.00 pm, the State Police intervened at the public park “Robert Baden Powell”, located in via Raffaello, close to the city centre of Pescara, where a boy had been stabbed.

On site, the Flying Squad crews found, in the rear part of the park, in the middle of some bushes behind the football pitch, the lifeless body of a boy, an Italian minor, aged 16, with obvious signs of stab wounds.

Investigative activity was started immediately and the Public Prosecutor on duty of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Pescara, Dr. Gennaro Varone, was informed, who went to the site together with the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Pescara, Dr. Giuseppe Bellelli. As soon as the possible responsibilities of minors became apparent, at the crime scene the Chief Prosecutor intervened at the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila, Dr. David Mancini and the Juvenile Prosecutor on duty, Dr. Angela D'Egidio, together with the judicial police of the Pescara Police Headquarters and the coroner, Dr. Cristian D'Ovidio.

The investigations started immediately after the discovery of the body of the young victim, they were conducted by highly specialized personnel from the Pescara Flying Squad, by the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office and by the Scientific Police. AND' It was thus possible to identify the victim and reconstruct the dynamics of what happened, in particular the causes that determined the brutal murderous event to be traced back to a dispute related to the management of narcotic substances. The victim would have been lured into an unsupervised area behind the park e then hit repeatedly with a cutting weapon in the vital parts of the body.

These investigations matured within the operational coordination between the ordinary Public Prosecutor's Office of Pescara and the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila. In fact, the Public Prosecutor on duty of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office and his Chief Prosecutor, after inspection of the crime scene, they went to the Pescara Police Headquarters – Flying Squad, proceeding to interview witnesses throughout the night until today's morning and to analyze all the useful elements.

The operational synergies made it possible to make a significant breakthrough in the investigations with the acquisition of surveillance images present in the area in front of the park and near a bathing establishment where all the members of the group went after the brutal crime.

It's It is also worth mentioning the cooperation of the investigative departments of the Pescara Police Headquarters (Flying Squad, the Flying Squad and the Scientific Police) which they provided to the magistrates investigators investigative elements useful to determine the arrest order of two minors seriously suspected of the crime.

The dramatic story, right from the start, highlighted an incredible youth discomfort, a surprising lack of emotional empathy and a clear inability to understand the extreme negative value of the actions committed.

These dysfunctional attitudes deserve extensive study, as well as the necessary reconstruction of dynamics and responsibilities.

The ongoing investigative activities are directed to this end, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of L'Aquila.Pescara, trovato morto un 16enne in un parco: arrestati due minorenni
