Pescara, 3kg of "hard drugs": at the sight of the officers he throws some out of the window while his accomplice tries to hide it in the attic.

On the evening of May 26, during a police operation aimed at preventing and repressing illicit drug trafficking in the Zanni district, Flying Squad personnel arrested a 51-year-old Italian, unemployed and with a criminal record, for detention for the purposes of dealing over 3 kg of narcotic, almost entirely made up of so-called "hard" drugs.

Following targeted investigative activities aimed at combating heroin dealing, a sadly well-known phenomenon in the Zanni neighbourhood, the investigators identified a house in which they believed a significant quantity of the narcotic was being held. Therefore, a detailed service was organized in order to be able to search the house, which even involved the police officers and a team of the fire brigade to be able to force the armored door given that the tenant refused to open it. The 51-year-old, at that point, threw part of the narcotic out the window, which was promptly recovered by the anti-drug personnel who had foreseen this expedient.

However, the investigators were aware that the man was hiding other narcotics and therefore requested the help of the State Police canine units, thanks to which it was possible to find the bulk of the substance hidden in the attic belonging to the apartment, a residential building. popular of which the suspect would not be the legitimate assignee.

Overall, therefore, they were seized 2.754,4 grams of heroin, 141,6 grams of cocaine, 331,6 grams of hashish and 15 joints already prepared with this last substance inside, as well as useful material for parcelling and a perfectly functioning precision scale.

Furthermore, the sum of 8.270 euros in banknotes of various denominations, appropriately subjected to seizure as it is likely the result of drug dealing and can be reused for the purchase of further substance by the arrested person, who does not appear to be receiving income from work.

Not only that: the Flying Squad operators noticed the presence of a second individual who was suspiciously wandering around the building, in contact with the arrested person. The man, identified the following day following further investigative investigations, was a 49-year-old Italian resident in Montesilvano, who had been contacted by the suspect when he realized the police had arrived. In fact, the man, who previously would have been responsible for transporting the material into the attic, had been asked to move the narcotic substance so that it would not be found by the police, but the task was not completed because the 49-year-old, a once he returned to the premises where the narcotic was hidden, he fled believing he had been noticed by an operator in civilian clothes and at the same time warned his accomplice, who was locked inside the apartment, of the presence of what he assumed to be police officers.

Therefore, the 51-year-old was arrested red-handed for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing on the evening of May 26 and taken to prison at the disposal of the AG, while the 49-year-old, the following day, was reported for the same crime in competition.

It is estimated that the seized narcotic, once cut and resold to the consumer, could easily have yielded proceeds of over 50.000 euros.

The seizure made is significant especially as the Zanni neighborhood is usually affected by small-scale heroin dealing and the discovery of such a quantity appears unusual.
