Oristano, a young offender shot for drug-related reasons: 2 arrests by the Carabinieri.

In the early hours of the day, in the provinces of Oristano and Cagliari, the Carabinieri of the Investigative Nucleus and the Oristano Company, supported by units of the Helicopter Squadron "Cacciatori di Sardegna", dog handlers and those of the Isili Company, in the context of a complex investigative activity directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Oristano, they executed an order for the application of coercive precautionary measures, issued by the GIP of the Court of Oristano, which ordered the precautionary custody in prison of no. 2 suspects, originating from Sarcidano and Marmilla, already known to the police, held jointly responsible for "aggravated robbery, drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, attempted murder and very serious injuries".

The activity originates from the gunshot wound, which occurred in Simaxis (OR) last December 19, of a local young man with a police record. The event had caused great concern in the country as it could not be ruled out that similar violent events could occur in the area over time.
The investigations into the case made it possible to reconstruct the dynamics of the wounding reasons that caused it, and are attributable to disputes related to drug dealing. In fact, the immediate investigations launched by the Carabinieri on the evening of the incident made it possible to recover approximately 1 Kg of Cocaine near the site of the ambush and to clarify that that evening the injured young man was the target of a group headed by the 2 arrested and that the dispute centered on the transfer of money and narcotics.
The operation of the Carabinieri soldiers also extended through some searches at some homes and places frequented by other people in various places in the province with the aim of ascertaining further criminal links and the exact consistency of the group of drug dealers which goes well beyond the arrested. The results and findings are still being examined by investigators.
