The 73-year-old man who was hit two days ago on Via Garibaldi by a car that then fled has died.

The Carabinieri and other law enforcement agencies are now on the trail of the hit-and-run driver, who is close to having a name thanks to the intense investigations carried out also on the basis of the testimonies acquired and the footage from the video surveillance systems installed in the area, the images of which are being examined by investigators.

It may be only a matter of hours before the driver of the vehicle is brought to justice, although it would be desirable if the person responsible could decide to present himself spontaneously at a Carabinieri station to provide his version of the facts, also in order to avoid more serious consequences and responsibilities regarding his conduct.
