Nine precautionary custody orders in the province of Cuneo for criminal association aimed at home burglaries.
At dawn yesterday, 26 July, in this Province, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cuneo carried out a precautionary custody order in prison and under house arrest issued by the GIP of the Court of Asti, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, against 9 subjects held responsible, in various capacities, for criminal association aimed at home burglaries, the improper use of payment instruments and the falsification of license plates.
THE RESTRICTIVE MEASURE:
The restrictive measure arises from a complex investigation activity, conventionally called "pater familias", started in December 2022 by the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Cuneo, the results of which made it possible to prove the operation of a criminal association aimed at commission of apartment thefts, undue use of payment instruments, forgery. The criminal group had its operational headquarters in the province of Cuneo and moved easily between the provinces of Alessandria and Cuneo, with an uncommon mastery of the territory.
The centers in which the crimes now under dispute were committed are:
Alessandria, Aqui Terme (AL), Arquata Scrivia (AL), Bosio (AL), Castellazzo Bormida (AL), Cavallerleone (CN), Cella Monte (AL), Ceresole d'Alba (CN), Cerreto Grue (AL), Cherasco (CN), Coniolo (AL), Gabiano (AL), Magliano Alpi (CN), Montemarzino (AL), Novi Ligure (AL), Occimiano (AL), Pasturana (AL), Pontestura (AL), Racconigi (CN ), Roccabruna (CN), Rocca Grimalda (AL), Rosignano Monferrato (AL), Scarnafigi (CN), Terruggia (AL), Ticineto (AL),
THE INVESTIGATIONS:
The investigations, in particular, demonstrated how the suspects had formed a structured association, where each member had a well-defined role and tasks, with the aim of committing the thefts and obviously evading the investigations by periodic clearance of any interception devices of the cars in use and through the execution of more purely executive tasks such as the fictitious registration of the vehicles in one's name. In the commission of the thefts, the thieves operated in a "battery" of three subjects: these reached the house to be plundered in large-engined cars registered to nominees and with cloned license plates installed, and, in the absence of the owners, gained access by forcing doors. and windows, looking for money and valuables. The detail of the use of the cloned license plates demonstrates the obsessive attention to detail with which the members of the association operated: during the investigations, the use of 23 false license plates was recorded which were affixed in place of the original one to mislead the investigations; these plates corresponded to car models identical to the one used by today's members. In the same way, multiple changes in the color of the car were observed, through the wrapping technique, or through the application of adhesive films on the bodywork; also in this case the aim was to not make the car recognisable. These were not the only precautions that were ascertained during the investigations: in fact, two of the associates were assigned to the so-called. "remediation", i.e. the checking of cars to exclude the presence of interception devices installed by the police.
The order notified to the suspects alleges the commission of 32 thefts which, it is estimated, yielded approximately 200.000 euros. Investigations are still underway to try to trace the commission of further crimes (there are at least 20 further episodes likely attributable to members of the criminal association), on the one hand, and to try to recover the stolen goods to be returned to the legitimate owners, on the other.
THE MODUS OPERANDI:
At the end of the execution of the measures, which involved around 80 Carabinieri from the Provincial Command of Cuneo, 5 of those arrested were confined to the Cuneo prison while the remainder were accompanied to house arrest at their respective homes. Only one was subjected to the residence obligation.
During the searches they were found and subjected to seizure:
– an Audi Q3 RS and an Audi S1 used to commit the thefts;
– an apparatus for detecting bugs;
– a warning sign with distinctive markings of the local police;
– two blue flashing lights;
– 187 Italian license plates and two false German plates;
– tools suitable for burglary;
– a set of passepartouts;
– 8 two-way radios;
– an apparatus for detecting bugs;
– 9 wigs.
– various jewellery;
– 6 Rolex watches, Daytona model;
– 16 bottles of fine wine;
– the total sum, in cash, of 45.000 euros.
The suspects, who are accused of belonging to the criminal association, are:
- AUDISIO Cristiano, 43 years old, resident in Magliano Alpi (CN);
- AUDISIO Luigi Mischa, 23 years old, domiciled in Carrù (CN);
- SACCO Carlo, 42 years old, resident in Mondovì (CN);
- PULIGA Francesco, 22 years old, resident in Magliano Alpi (CN);
- FERRUA Federico, 27 years old, resident in Vicoforte (CN);
- DIAZ DIAZ Vladimir, 33 year old Cuban citizen, homeless in Italy;

- DE COLOMBI Devis, 47 years old, domiciled at the nomad camp in Alba (CN);
- SIGN Noemi, 40 years old, domiciled at the nomad camp in Alba (CN).
Further investigations are underway aimed at finding further elements, even of a contrary nature, compared to those collected so far, therefore in favor of the suspects, who are presumed innocent until a final conviction is pronounced.
The operation constitutes an albeit partial and limited response to the growing concern of the local population, and to the correlative request for increased security, for a phenomenon, such as that of home burglaries and scams against the elderly, which does not experience any crisis and which represents a social plague that grips the territory.
