Newborn found dead in Parma: young mother accused of infanticide and concealment of corpse.

The tragic case that occurred in Traversetolo, in the province of Parma, has deeply shocked public opinion: a 22-year-old girl is being investigated for voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse, after the body of a newborn was found in the garden of the family home. According to the investigations, the young woman allegedly induced labor on August 7, without medical assistance and without anyone knowing about the pregnancy, not even the child's father. After giving birth, she allegedly killed the newborn and hid his body in a hole in the garden, two days before leaving for a previously scheduled trip abroad.

The Parma Public Prosecutor's Office specified that neither the girl's family nor the child's father were aware of the pregnancy. The young woman's parents and her partner, a boy of the same age who had been dating her for a long time, were also declared innocent of the facts. According to the statements of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the girl was not followed by any doctor or gynecologist, and she managed the entire pregnancy and birth completely by herself. None of her friends or family ever suspected anything, even though the young woman had spent the summer dressed normally, without showing visible signs of pregnancy.

The situation was further complicated by the discovery of the remains of a second newborn in the garden of the same house. Initial analyses suggest that these remains date back more than a year, opening the hypothesis that the girl could be responsible for another infanticide. At the moment, investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the connection between the two episodes, and the young woman remains the only suspect.

The mother of the girl's boyfriend, who is believed to be the father of the baby found dead, expressed disbelief that the girl could have acted entirely alone. In an interview, she said her son was deeply shocked by the discovery, but insisted that no one in the boy's family knew about the pregnancy. She described her son as "devastated" and said it was unthinkable that the girl could have hidden everything without anyone's help. However, she also said she no longer wanted to have contact with the girl's family, stressing the deep shock and pain the whole affair had caused.

The investigation is coordinated by the Parma prosecutor, Alfonso D'Avino, and is now focused on ascertaining the facts related to the two newborns found. Many dark points remain, but what emerges is a story of isolation and desperation, with a young woman who lived a pregnancy in total secrecy and then committed extremely serious acts. The situation is made even more complex by the psychological and social conditions of the girl, which we are trying to shed light on in order to understand the motivations behind such extreme actions.

Investigations continue to shed light on the entire affair and to clarify the dynamics and responsibilities of these terrible acts.
