New trial on the Piazza della Loggia massacre: the Government does not receive notification of the preliminary hearing against Roberto Zorzi.
Forty-nine years after the massacre, we return to the courtroom to look for new pieces of truth about the explosion of a bomb hidden in a bin in Brescia, in Piazza della Loggia which caused 8 deaths and 102 injuries. The preliminary hearing opened in front of judge Francesca Grassani as part of the quater investigation into the massacre of 28 May 1974 which saw the figures of the Veronese neo-fascists Marco Toffaloni and Roberto Zorzi emerge as possible perpetrators of the attack.
After analyzing any defense objections, the prosecutors could discuss the indictment of only Zorzi, who lives in the USA, while in the next few days it will be the turn of Toffaloni, who is in Switzerland, whose role falls under the jurisdiction of the Court of Minor because he was 17 years old, three years older than his political passion companion.
This morning, though. At the opening of the hearing, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers did not appear to be a civil party in the Loggia massacre.
«The Presidency of the Council has not received any notice regarding the setting of the preliminary hearing of the trial against Roberto Zorzi and Marco Toffaloni, accused of the massacre in Piazza della Loggia Brescia. For this reason, the State Attorney's Office, on the mandate of the Presidency of the Council itself, will ask the Gup of Brescia for the remission in terms for the purposes of establishing a civil party, which will follow as soon as the remission is granted". This is what the undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano, declares.
