Yesterday the State Police carried out a precautionary order issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Court of Naples, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples, with which the measure of the obligation to submit to the Judicial Police was established towards of four suspects seriously suspected of crimes of resistance and injury to a public official.

In particular, the four suspects are accused of having participated, together with other subjects, to a violent action carried out against members of the police force in the course of a event organized at the entrance to the RAI headquarters of Naples on February 13, 2024.

From the reconstruction of the facts, carried out through the notes of the Judicial Police and the viewing of the videos available, it seems that, since the previous day, the news of the protest demonstration in front of RAI had been widely spread on social media.

On the day of the event, therefore, around 9.00 am the State Police personnel were deployed to guard the three pedestrian and vehicular entrances of the RAI. It was also prepared by the staff of the local Regional Cabinet of the Scientific Police, a video recording service aimed at filming and crystallizing the salient phases of the initiative.

Around 11.00 approximately 250 demonstrators arrived on site and subsequently a group made up of 50 demonstrators, compact behind one of the banners, began advance in the direction of the RAI entrance, occupying the roadway with the clear and unequivocal intent of accessing the structure.

In order to avoid unauthorized mass access, the Service Manager provided for the complete closure of the sliding gate access to the facility, until then it had remained ajar to allow employees to enter the television studios. Despite the attempts made by DIGOS personnel to dissuade the demonstrators, same they continued to advance compactly behind the banner until they came into contact with the Mobile Department team placed to protect the gap. From the videos acquired, it is clear that the demonstrators did not limit themselves to direct contact with the police operators, but advanced further until they forcefully compressed them against the gate, using the so-called “mass push", then begin actual resistance by kicking and punching the officers who were trying not to get trapped against the metal fence.

Following the arrival of the other two teams from the Mobile Department to support the trapped agents, the protesters they adopted an even more violent conduct and, unable to access the Rai headquarters, they compressed the remaining officers again lined up against the metal fence in an attempt to prevent access, while simultaneously hitting them with flag poles and motorcycle helmets, while, from the rear, The protesters who remained behind threw blunt objects at the officers, including large stones, cobblestones, various metal objects and red paint. Following the events, have police officers suffered injuries, a photojournalist and some of the demonstrators, and material supplied to the assigned departments, such as shields and uniforms, was damaged. The suspects were identified through the viewing and analysis of the footage taken by Forensic Police personnel.

The measure carried out is a precautionary measure ordered during preliminary investigations, against which appeals are permitted, e the recipients of the same are people subjected to investigations and therefore presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached.
