Murder of Sharon Verzeni: investigations continue unabated, searching for the murder weapon and new leads.

A month after the murder of Sharon Verzeni, the 33-year-old barmaid stabbed to death in Terno d'Isola, in the Bergamo area, the search for the murder weapon and the investigations continue unabated. Sharon's family, through their lawyer Luigi Scudieri, reiterated their commitment to finding the killer, thanking the citizens, the mayor and the Mu.Re. volunteers for their help.

However, despite two days of intensive searching, the knife used in the murder has not yet been found. Sergio Ruocco, the victim's partner, expressed his frustration with the late search, while acknowledging that it is not his job to judge investigators' priorities.

In Terno d'Isola, authorities combed through manholes and inspected gas cabins, with the help of experts from the Museo Recovering 1915-1918, who specialize in recovering ordnance.

Despite the intense search, no breakthrough is expected soon. The investigation also focuses on Sharon's circle of acquaintances and a possible unknown suspect.

A local pizza chef told investigators that a North African man who frequents the square and is known for his troublemaking behavior has not been seen around since the night of the crime, suggesting a possible investigative lead.

In parallel, the investigation continues on a man on a bicycle, caught on camera while riding the wrong way down Via Castegnate during the minutes of the murder. The investigators have a name to work on, but the person in question has not yet come forward.

It may not be the killer, but someone who saw something important. In addition, the heavy presence of law enforcement in the village has led to the disappearance of other individuals known for petty crimes, but it is unclear whether this is connected to Sharon's murder.

Authorities are also considering the possibility that a “thug” may have made advances on Sharon, triggering a violent reaction that led to the murder.
