Rieti, checks after the easing of restrictions: over 200 vehicles and 250 people checked
Rieti, prevention and repression of crimes and verification of the stringent anti-Covid-19 measures
Rieti, the territorial control activity continues throughout the province, planned by the Rieti Police Commissioner Maria Luisa Di Lorenzo, aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes, as well as the verification of the stringent anti-Covid-19 measures established to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
In recent days, coinciding with the partial reopening of commercial activities and the resumption of people's movements between different regions, arranged with the review of the anti-Covid-19 measures, the patrols of the State Police, deployed by the Rieti Police Headquarters and from the sections of the Road Police and the Postal Police of Rieti, they monitored the areas of the capital, the tourist resorts of Terminillo, the localities of the Sabina on the border with the Roman hinterland and the main road arteries that cross this province, proceeding with the control of over 200 vehicles and 250 people, some of whom were sanctioned for violating the rules of conduct established by the Highway Code.
The Rieti Traffic Police Section, in particular, on the morning of Saturday 24 April 2021, proceeded to inspect a lorry transporting live animals together with slaughtered meat in clear violation of all health regulations.
The patrol of the Passo Corese Highway Police detachment then called in personnel from the Rieti ASL who, in addition to seizing the potentially contaminated goods for subsequent checks and possible destruction, activated all the checks relating to the origin of animals and any illegal slaughter of the same.
The driver of the truck, in the circumstance, was fined an amount of 1000 Euros which he will have to pay for the transport violation committed.
The Rieti Postal and Communications Police Section, in addition to the usual monitoring of websites and activities to combat computer crimes, also contributed to the territorial control services, in particular for the supervision of post offices in conjunction with the payment of pensions. Throughout the province, 25 post offices and over 50 people were checked.
