Abused, tied to the bed and kidnapped his partner: 31-year-old Albanian arrested in Florence.

On the night between 8 and 9 April, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia Firenze Oltrarno arrested a person of Albanian nationality, resident in Italy, class 83, accusing him of the crimes of domestic abuse and kidnapping person.

In the late afternoon of April 8th a girl, in a confused state and in tears, showed up at the
Florence Legnaia station following a brutal argument with the boy living with her, during which she had been physically attacked and tied to the bed with a rope, with the aim of preventing her from leaving the house during the man's absence.

For this purpose, the man had also taken away her house keys, to prevent her from leaving or escaping. She managed to free herself, the girl left the house by lowering herself from a window of the apartment on the mezzanine floor, arriving on the street where she found passers-by who gave her assistance, accompanying her to the Carabinieri. Here the girl told what happened, specifying that in the past, over the last year, there had been other episodes of attacks, caused by man's jealousy.

During the subsequent search carried out by the military personnel, a rope was found in the suspect's home, specifically in the wardrobe, probably the same one used to tie the girl, testifying to what happened that afternoon. Upon completion of all the necessary checks the man is was declared under arrest for the crimes of family abuse and kidnapping and, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Florence, transferred to the Florence Sollicciano prison, where he will await the hearing
validation and the subsequent process

The victim, shaken by what happened, was helped to the barracks by 118 health workers, in implementation of the protocol reserved for victims of this type of crime.

The activity carried out testifies to the continuous efforts made by the Carabinieri and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Florence to stem the phenomenon of crimes against vulnerable groups, which is increasingly causing social alarm. The proceeding is currently pending in the investigation phase and the actual responsibility of the persons receiving the precautionary measure will be examined during the trial.
