Misterbianco: Off-duty Carabiniere catches drug dealer, arrested

The activities of do not stop prevention and repression of crimes related to drug dealing, carried out by the military of the Catania Carabinieri who, even when off duty, always keep a watchful eye on this criminal phenomenon.

This is confirmed by what happened a few days ago in misterbianco, where a Carabiniere who was going to lunch, has a 20-year-old man arrested of the place for possession of narcotic substance for the purpose of dealing.

It was just after midday when the soldier, on duty at the local Carabinieri station, off duty and without uniform, driving his private car along Via Galliano noticed a young man parked on the pavement who, with a shoulder bag, he looked around cautiously.

The Carabiniere, suspicious of that attitude, observed the boy more carefully, noticing that from his shoulder strap a plastic bag was sticking out. That quick “glance” was enough to understand the need to proceed with an inspection.

The soldier, therefore, immediately contacted the operations center to report the incident, then choosing a secluded position to monitor the young man's movements, waiting for a support patrol to be sent. Thanks to the operational synergy between the departments who operate in the territory and the Central, after a few minutes the colleagues reached the Carabiniere who, thus, is quickly intervened, approaching the boy, identifying himself and asking him what he was doing standing there at that hour.

The 20-year-old, who certainly didn't expect to be "caught", he remained silent, further fueling the investigator's suspicions who then searched him, finding in his bag a good 9 doses of hashish, of the weight of more than 30 grams, and 18 doses of marijuana for a weight of 50 grams.

The young pusher was therefore arrested and taken to the barracks, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, who validated it. the arrest, while all the drugs were seized.
