Milano, State Police for World Blood Donor Day
Milano, this morning, in the courtyard of the Police Headquarters, the Milanese policemen joined the appeal of the World Health Organization which chose Italy, the 14th
June, as host country for the World Blood Donation Day celebrations.
The initiative in via Fatebenefratelli, organized by the non-profit organization “Donatorinati” (Association of Donors and Volunteers of State Police Personnel) with the collaboration of AVIS
Milano, saw the participation of almost 30 policemen and women on duty Milano, who donated under the supervision of AVIS medical staff.
The event, also successfully held in other Italian cities, had the aim of raising awareness among members of the State Police on the concept of donation as
gesture of solidarity and altruism especially in a period of pandemic, such as the current one, which has exacerbated the chronic shortage of blood in all healthcare facilities.
