Milano, sexual violence and robberies in Piazza Duomo on New Year's Eve: 2 young people arrested, there is danger of escape

Milano, the State Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the ordinary Court of Milano, as part of investigative activities aimed at identifying those responsible for the sexual violence, robberies and injuries that occurred on New Year's Eve in Piazza Duomo, in Milano, executed a provision for the arrest of a crime suspect issued by the prosecutors in charge of the investigations.

In particular, they were carried out yesterday house searches e personal a Milano, Bergamo and Turin against 18 young people, 3 of whom are minors, who are presumed to be involved in the episodes of aggression and violence committed against 9 girls.

The precautionary measure was adopted following the discovery, at the homes of the two young people, of IT equipment and items of clothing corresponding to those worn on the evening of 31 December 2021, and the examination of five victims at the Public Prosecutor's Office, confirming thus the identification of two subjects emerged from the analysis of the videos that documented the events.

The two arrested are involved, one in the gang sexual violence against two very young women and in the robbery of one, the other in the gang violence against four girls and in the robbery of one of them.

The existence of the risk of escape for both was taken into account.
