Milano, riots in Piazza Selinunte: the State Police searches the homes of 13 young people

Milano, the State Police performed this morning at Milano 13 house search decrees issued by Deputy Prosecutor Dr Nobili, coordinator of the anti-terrorism pool of the Prosecutor's Office of Milano, and by Dr. Cascone, Prosecutor at the Juvenile Court of Milano, against as many young people, 10 adults and 3 minors, all under investigation for unannounced demonstration, aggravated violence and resistance to a public official, identified as participants in the episodes of violence committed against the police, last Saturday 10 April, near Piazza Selinunte. A 27-year-old Moroccan citizen, with numerous police records and who wielded a machete, was also investigated for carrying weapons.

Saturday afternoon, around 17.30 pm, the Police Headquarters Milano had intervened with officials and public order contingents of the State Police and the Carabinieri in via Micene, after having received reports of a gathering of around 300 very young people, aged between 16 and 20; the intervention had provoked a violent reaction from the boys who, for about twenty minutes, had faced the police with frequent throwing of stones, bottles and sticks.

The intervention of the public force had restored calm and the neighborhood remained patrolled by the police until the evening to avoid further gatherings.

The investigative activity carried out in the following days by the Flying Squad, by DIGOS with the contribution of the Bonola police station and the specialist support of the Lombard Postal and Communications Police and the Scientific Police, made it possible to reconstruct the
facts: the 19-year-old rappers Amine Ez Zaaraoui, aka “Neima Ezza” and Zaccaria Mohuib, aka “Baby Gang”, had arranged to meet their fans in the San Siro area for the recording of a music video for “Neima Ezza". The investigations made it possible to identify and report the 13 young people who stood out for their vehement reaction against the police.

At the same time as the investigative activity on Saturday's events, the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters of Milano a specific investigative activity that led the Police Commissioner to Milano Giuseppe Petronzi to issue 6 prevention measures against some of the young people identified by the Flying Squad and Digos. The measures were notified to the recipients this morning during the searches. These are young people aged between 18 and 27, of Maghreb origin, all with police records for crimes related to drug dealing, crimes against the person and crimes against property.

In detail, 5 Oral Notices and 1 repatriation order with mandatory expulsion order were issued against a twenty-year-old resident in Sondrio, who will not be able to return to the municipality of Milano for 3 years. The recipients of the Oral Notices are all residents of the capital, in the area of ​​Piazzale Selinunte and the "Baggio" district. They have been formally invited to behave, from now on, in compliance with the Law, under penalty of incurring more incisive and burdensome prevention measures, such as Special Public Security Surveillance.

Precisely this last more afflictive measure is being examined by the Anti-Crime Division for 4 other young people, aged between 18 and 25, who have more serious police records (including robbery, personal injury, possession of objects capable of offending) and have therefore expressed a social danger that requires more coercive containment measures.

The overall budget of the prevention activity amounts to 5 Oral Notices, 1 Mandatory Via Sheet and 4 Special Surveillance proposals for young people aged between 18 and 27 years.

This morning's operation was conducted with the support of the Mobile Department, the Lombardy Crime Prevention Department and the General Prevention Office of the Police Headquarters of Milano intervened, as well as with its squad cars, also with anti-drug dog units.
