Milano, armed with a knife enters the church swearing

The man who in Cinisello Balsamo (Milano) created moments of terror. The State Police intervened yesterday morning at the Holy Family Church, in the square of the same name in Cinisello Balsamo in the Province of Milano, following a report from a person who, after entering the church where the religious function of the Sunday Mass was taking place, began to swear and threaten the faithful by brandishing a switchblade.

Having arrived promptly on site, the agents of the Flying Squad of the Cinisello police station intercepted the man who in the meantime, having left the church, had also threatened the owner of a nearby business. The officers then began a mediation activity with the man, managing to convince him to throw away the weapon and hand himself over.

The subject, without putting up any resistance, was then stopped and taken to the police station for checks.

On both occasions only a big scare, but no damage to the people involved. The man, a 51-year-old Italian with no criminal record, had been under treatment for some time in the psychiatry department of the local Bassini hospital, where he was taken after being reported for aggravated threats and illegal possession of weapons.
